01-30-12 VP

I finished writing up my two column script. I put all of it in a folder that says "Theresa's individual project." All I have to do is tape the questions and put it all together. Basically I have to do everything except for writing my scripts. I need to find at least two boy basketball players and two girl basketball player volunteers to tape.

01-30-12 VP

For my individual project I'm doing basketball. I have part of it done. I already taped the basketball games. I still have to tape some practices and the interviews. For the interviews I just ask basketball plays and fans some questions related to the games and or practices.

Today we are working on photos looking old. I'm almost finished I just need to get the fame put on my photo. I couldn't get it to work today. I will try again tomorrow. If I can't get the frame to work then I'm just not going to have one.

01-30-12 GD

It is important to look into the finer details of your photo so that it doesn't look like crap. If you don't look at all those little details you might end up leaving and extra hand behind. You could also have the shadow misplaced. There are a lot of things that could be wrong if you don't look at the finer details.

01-26-12 VP

Today i worked on my scripts. I almost have my casting script done. I have an idea of what i want my video to look like. The two-column script i will have to finish on monday.

01-26-12 VP

A pedestal is when you move the camera up and down on a tripod. You can also turn the tripod so you can make it look like the camera is moving up with the person. If you have someone whole is supposed to be walking up the stairs you can move the camera up to follow the person as they move.

01-26-12 GD

I finished all my pictures. So i went to the middle of the room and did the game thing. I also helped Mrs. Warriner fine the easter eggs in the photoshopped pictures.

01-26-12 GD

I would depending on which way my skier was facing i would put a certain type of blur over it. If the skier was facing me i would put a radial blur but if he wasn't facing me i would put a motion blur on it. I would then make it so just the skier was in focus so that it looks like they are going down the hill. I would then add layer masks and darken the scene making it look dark. I would then add lights from up top shining down on the mountain to make it look like the lights are there just for that reason, night skiing.

01-25-12 GD make up

Before

After

I added some layer masks to make the bike and dude brighter. Copied the layer. Changed the blend mode to screen. I then grouped my two adjustment into a group folder. Added a mask to the entire group and brightened up the bike and the guy. I lowered the opacity and then played with the hues to of the layer to make it look how I wanted it too look. Added a layer mask and used black to take out the red and yellow hues I didn't want in the background.

Before

After

It doesn't look like I did much I know. Truth be told I really didn't have to. I brightened the image. Thats all the video really told us to do. So that's what I did.

01-25-12 GD make up

Before

After

To start I duplicated the background. Then I added motion blur. I messed with it until i got it how I wanted it to look. Then i created a mask over my new layer. I took the black and removed some of the blur from it so you could see just the pick-up.

01-25-12 GD make up

Before

After

First I added some text to my sign. Changed the color and turned it a little. I added another layer and darkened some spots on it. I then added a curves layer or two and changed some things on that. I merged all the layers together. I added two spotlights where the sign lights are to brighten up the sign. Then to finish it off i darkened the edge and around the lights.

01-25-12 VP

Extreme long shot used to get all of the person and part of the scenery. Long shot is used to get all of a person in the shot. Medium Shot is used to get a shot of their waste and up. Close up is used to get a shot of the shoulders to the top of their head. Extreme Close up is used to get a shot of just their face.

01-25-12 GD

Before
After
I added motion blur to two different layers. Changed it so that he looks like i want him to. I then added some color layers. First put him in black and white then changed the color to what i wanted it to look like. Turned the mode to soft light took down the opacity some. Then i added black edges in a new layer. Again put the edges at soft light.

01-25-12 GD

Panning motion blur is when the bur looks like it goes left to right. I makes it look like something is moving in front of your face. You can use it if your standing next to someone and the are swinging in front of you. To make it look like they are swinging left to right you would use a panning blur.

01-24-12 VP

I'm going to do my individual video on getting active. There is going to be some shots of basketball practice. A few shots of some dancing. Mostly swing dancing. Possibly some shots of cheer practice.

01-24-12 VP

A dolly is when you move the camera and the tripod in or out. A truck is moving the camera and tripod left or right. An arc is when you stay the same distance away from someone and walk in an arc around them.

01-24-12 GD

Radial blur is a way to give your picture motion. You can pick a focal point on the picture and make things blur around it. It works best on pictures that are facing you striaght on. This way the pictue has it blurring out behind the focal point.

01-23-12 GD missing days

Before

After

I put a black in the corners and in the tire hubcaps to draw attention away from them. I added light to were you can see the rain in the street lamp. I added light to just the guy walking through the picture to make him more the center of focus.

01-23-12 GD

Before

After
First of all I added a radial blur. Played with what was in focus and what wasn't in focus. Brightened up on the right eye. Darkened the left side of the face just a little. To finish it off I brightened up her eyes. I put an invert layer and colored her eyes white and then took down the opacity

Last week we worked on shadows. It helps so you can make two-dimensional objects three-dimensional. You could do things and make them look professional with this tool.

01-19-12 VP

We got most of our video finished. We just have to add music behind it. We had some difficulty with getting one of the transitions in. We figured it out with some help. We are choosing music and then adding it in and our video is complete.

01-19-12 VP

No our video does not look very professional. It has some good parts but definitely could be better. No i would not pay to have this played on live television.

01-19-12 GD

I took away the background. Moved the picture so i could add a shadow. I messed with the shadow a little bit. Then I changed the color of the leaf to what I wanted.

01-19-12 GD

The best way I have learned is with the guy that goes through everything fast. He makes it easy to know what your doing. I can always go back and pause the movie and see what he has done. He also puts his short cuts up on the screen.

01-18-12 GD

I got a little bit father on my project. I'm working on getting the drop shadow to look how i want it to. I'm about to do the part where i put a layer mask over it and then get rid of the shadow that i don't want.

01-18-12 GD

It is important to move the drop shadow layer to give it more dimension. When you leave the drop shadow the way the originally put it down it just looks like its sitting on a flat surface. When you move the drop shadow it makes it look more 3-dimensional, thus giving the picture more interest.

Deadlines are important because if we didn't have any deadlines nothing would get accomplished. In the production field it is important to have deadlines so it gives the people watching something to look forward to. Without deadlines people when know when to expect things. They wouldn't have an idea of when things would be ready.

01-17-12 GD

I learned how to add a shadow to an object. This I think is the hardest video I've done. I'm not very far into it but I'm trying. This project is fun and challenging.

01-09-12 VP

We still have to film and edit our entire project. We got all of the scripts finished. We have to film and up load the video onto the computer so that we can edit it. When we finish editing we have to turn it into the people doing the morning announcements.

01-09-12 GD

I watched the Seattle video for lighting effects. I am almost finished with this picture. I think that this guy explains a lot better than the other chick did. I understand what I'm doing now and why.

01-09-12 GD

You would want to use those lighting effects so that it doesn't turn out stupid. These lighting effects make what you want to stand out stand out.

01-05-12 VP

Today we attempted to start editing and then had to go back and fix our scripts. We had to add where the camera person was. We also had to draw a story board so we knew what was going to happen. We fixed the scripts so now I (the camera person) know where to stand.

01-05-12 VP

I will be using some of the terms we learned last semester. We are creating a two-column script and a cast script that we learned last year. We will also be doing editing, that includes fading and music in the background.

01-05-12 GD

I added light to the back tire to make it stand out more. I gave it a black border to make the entire bike more of the center of focus. I increased the yellow color in the bike so that the bike doesn't look so boring with the brighter tires. I also enhanced the brightness of the front tire so that it kind of matched the brightness of the back tire.  I took the blue out of the wall behind the bike so that the wall didn't have random blue spots in it. That I'm pretty sure is about it.

01-05-12 GD

To add light you first choose the photo you want to add light to. Copy the background. Go up to filter. Go down in that box until you get to render and then click lighting affects. After you edit what you want done in there go down to where your thumbnails are and click layers then go down to soft-light. Copy that layer and desaturate it. Click the default in the desaturation box. After you do that go to Curves and change the color to what ever color you want. Again go down and change it to soft-light. Make a new layer by the layer button on the bottom of the screen under your thumbnails. Make sure your clicked on the new layer and go to edit, go down to fill. A box will pop up fill the box with black and choose soft-light. Do a layer mask. Click the adjust icon and go to color balance. Play with the color balance until you get what you want.

01-04-12 VP

We finished our cast script and our two-column script. We have to film tomorrow. We also have to do all of our editing. I helped Kaitlin work on the cast script.

01-04-12 VP

To send an attachment in an e-mail in you have to click the attachment button. Select the video or movie you would like to send. When you have it selected you have to wait for it to successfully load before you send the e-mail. If you fail to do that you e-mail will be sent in code and not readable. Make sure you have a subject on your e-mail so that if people need to find it quick they can.

01-04-12 GD

We watched the bike videos. He told us how to make small changes to a picture. Add layer masks using short cuts. There is a lot of content in this video. He also moves fast but i definitely like him better than the other chick.

01-04-12 GD

To send on attachment to an e-mail you have to firsts open up a new e-mail. Click attach file. Select the attachment you would like to send. After you have it selected you have to wait for the attachment to completely load to your e-mail before you send it. If you fail to do this then your attachment will be sent in code and therefore no good. So wait for the attachment to load completely then send the e-mail.

01-03-12

We are thinking of ideas for selling the new yearbook. We have to make it look professional. We also have to write a cast script and the two-column script. Bailey's group is making a video for new students coming into the school. The other group is doing something for the "Sheriff."

01-03-12 VP

Back in august i didn't know any of the terms that we know. I also didn't know how much it took to make a video. Also i now know how to create a treatment and proposal. It is extremely difficult to create a rundown sheet of a cast script if you don't know what your project is on.

01-03-12 GD

I copied the original layer. Changed some lighting effects. I desaturated it. Added a new layer and put some color in it to make the corners darker. Thats about it.

01-03-12 GD

In photoshop i learned how to use the selection tool. Where you can out line the shape that you want. I learned a lot in photoshop. I don't really remember what we did before break though so all of my information is hiding.
