I did like they showed us in the video and played around with the gradient fill. Then I went and played around with the patterns fill. I changed the color to some of it. Its not too difficult if you actually know what your doing.

The object hierarchy is when you you drag different tools out of the tool bar and make them stand on their own. It helps so you don't have to go find the tools your self. You can just have the certain tools your using right there at your finger tips.

You can click on certain things you want and put them into a group. That way you can just choose the group you want with out having to individually click on each image. Layers are just images stacked onto of each other.

The magic wand tool gives you new ways to select objects. It draws a box around things. The lasso tool you draw around what you want. You can grab something from one side of the page and the complete opposite side of the page by drawing around them.

With point text there is just one point defining the text. When you change how your text sits. The texts moves not the anchor point. Area text is when you click and drag the text box. This make it so that the text automatically flows to the next line.

The significance of past clean up is when you have shapes or anchor points that you can't see. If a shape doesn't have any sort of outline color or fill in color than you won't be able to see it. These things can screw up your project. So if you go through and and get rid of all the loose anchor points and shapes with no strokes then life will be a lot easier.

I went into the clean up file. I put an outline on the upper torso and bikini bottoms that would have been deleted with the clean up. Then I made the bikinis small enough to fit on the torsos. I also made the sandals smaller to fit on their feetish. I also added a layer to the surf board. Thats about it.

To simplify a path is to minimize the number of anchor points you have in a path. I makes your life easier by making things more simple. You can take out some anchor points so that things are easier to work with.

I simplified the amount of anchor points like he told us to. I also went in a played around with certain parts of the picture and played with the number of anchor points. Then I colors in the strokes path with purple on the one and then green on the palm tree.

The line isn't supposed to be there but that is how the picture turned out. I used the pen tool to draw my name. Then I used to shapes tool to make the star. I filled the star in with three different colors.

It's the little black arrow. You click and drag a box over the items that you wish to have the ankor points on. This way you can move them if you want to.

This is what I did. I took the shapes and made them look cool. Then I went through and selected each layer and changed the color. I had a lot of fun. It takes a little bit getting used to something different.

They have the same basic layout. It is a little more difficult to find the tools you want. They don't have boxes on the side saying what you did to the picture. I don't like it at all.

Isolation is when you hide all the other objects you have one that you can change. You just click on it and this way you can change things on it with out changing every thing else. It helps so that you can just work with one thing at a time.

Out of all of the places I have chosen for my brochure I would have to say that Notre Dame is the most interesting. The river that it was built next to. The large stain-glass windows. This is a large religious place that means a lot to people.

I would want to see a place that I want to go see. If the pictures aren't interesting then I wouldn't want to go. It's the pictures that capture your attention, it's the words that keep you interested. Good pictures will catch the eye then you just have to hold there attention by putting good wording in.

I'm trying to change every picture so that they look different. I think it is significant because if you don't have visual identity with each picture then they won't know who did the work. With visual identity people can look at a picture and know who did it. It is important to have this so that people know who did the picture they liked.

I think it is important to know the history behind a loction so that you can better advertise it. If there is a past of earthquakes, you should probably know that. Plus if you know the history of a location you can sound smarter when your talking about it.

Motion Stabilization is when you have a steady hand while video taping. When your holding the video camera and you don't shake to much. Having a tripod can help.

Rack focus is when you move focus from something in the foreground to something in the background. Or vise versa. It was used a lot in older videos. So that you could focus on one person or thing in the background with our everything else in focus.

I found a picture that had a plain white background. Then I went and found some cool looking clouds. I added the clouds in behind my water and cliffs by using a layer mask. I though about adding different colors into the picture but when I tried that it looked stupid. So I just stuck with only changing the background.

If you don't match the background and the foreground than your picture won't look very good. It very critical if you don't then people won't like you photo. If people don't like your photo than you suck.

You export the video onto your desktop . Then you open the folder you wish to place it in. Click and drag the video you put on your desktop into the folder. That will make a copy of your video into the folder. Then you will have one on your desktop and one in the folder you wish to share it in.

I added a different sky. I had a really hard time doing it and it looks like crap. I'm not computer savvy. Computers hate me and I hate them. I played with the opacity and this is what I got.

Yes it is a good idea and it is useful depending on what your doing. Some pictures don't need to have the sky changed. You can change the sky in most pictures if you want to. Most of the skies have backgrounds that fit the picture so they don't need a new sky.

Cross dissolving in video production is when is picture dissolves or fades into another picture. It is used when you change from one picture to another. When your making an IMovie you use many different transitions. Cross dissolving is used when you want to change from one picture to another or from one clip to another.

The Ken Burns effect is when you have a picture and put it into IMovie or something and it zooms in or out. You can make the picture start in one place and either go up or down from that spot. You can also make it zoom in or out from one spot in the picture.

The floor director instructs everyone where they should be. If he isn't there than he can't tell people what camera to look at. So they could be looking at a camera that isn't even shooting them. Therefore they will look dumb and not be looking at the right camera.

I changed the background to the first picture that is in my other blog. Then I added a snow layer. I played with the blending modes until I got it where I thought it looked the best.

I found a picture that I liked but that I thought the background could be more interesting. I went and found a picture of the northern lights that had similar colors in it to the fairies wings. I used quick selection to target the background and put a layer mask over my sky background. This is how it turned out.

Ducking is when you fade audio behind a speaking person. If you have music playing and people talking then people not talking. You want to fade the audio behind the people and when they stop talking then to fade the music back in.

I put a different rose on top of the rose that was already there. Then I found a magnifying glass and placed it over the new rose. I used a mask and my brush tool to get the effects I wanted. This is what I came up with.

Doing an individual project has made it easier to understand what you do in video production. When your made to do it on your own you don't just rely on others to do all your work for you. If you don't do your work then you fail. It's not anyone else's fault other than yours.

I really don't know what I want to do for my next video. I know that it has to be three minutes long but I'm not sure what I would like to do my video on. I think that I might do my video on Sophomores. Seeing how I am a Sophomore I could just video what my class does in the halls or in certain classes. I added lights into my photo and changed it to a soft light so that the layers blended together. Then I made a copy of just the subway layer. Played with the colors a bit after I took all the color out of the subway. Last of all I added in my favorite quote. Positioned it how I liked it and tada this is what I got.

Layer blending is when you blend two different layers together. You don't just blend them completely together. You make it so that you can still see both photos. It is used when your switching scenes by fading and you can still see the other layer behind it. Like with the subway and lights layer. You just blend one photo into the other to where you can still see most of the other photo.

It's important to have a vanishing point in your picture because it gives it more visual value. With a vanishing point you can add things in there and make the picture better. A vanishing point in a picture makes it more interesting.

First I put the pictures into two different layers in photoshop. I then made a third empty layer. I hid the single layer with the graffiti on it after i had copied the layer. Then I created a vanishing point on the photo of the wall. I then proceeded to copy my graffiti layer onto the vanishing point and moved it until what i wanted was where I wanted it. Then I changed the blend mode to overlay and played with the colors.

I played with the lens blur effects. It took me a little bit to figure out where I wanted the picture to look like. I finally got it how I wanted it to look, where the guy was the only thing in focus.

A vanishing point is where the picture goes back to look like its getting farther away. When the background meets the horizon is usually the vanishing point. Hence the "vanishing" point it vanishes into the horizon.

I added texture to the original picture. Then I played with the colors and blend modes. I added a little noise in the form of film grain to the picture. I went in and texturized the picture a little bit to make it look nice. Then i changed the color of the picture. Took my brush tool and removed it from the eyes then inverted it so just the eye color changed. Changed the blend mode on the eyes to overlay. Took down the opacity and this is what I was left with.

Lens blur makes it so that only certain things are blurred. It is very useful because it allows you to keep one object in focus while the rest isn't in focus. They also use a lens blur a lot in movies when moving from one actor/actress to the other. So that focus is only on one at a time.

I took a picture of an old dodge that I found on google and played with the effects. I changed it to black and white then added some curves layers. The onetouch thing didn't work to download to my computer so I gave up and worked with what I had. This is what I was left with. I don't think it looks too bad. It could be better but oh well.

We worked with lens blur and masking today. I took a picture of the beach with a bottle on it and added my effects to it. I don't think using lens blur is very difficult. I really like using it.

First I chose a picture of a beach that I liked. Then I chose the type of gradient I wanted to use. Went into Filter > Blur > Lens blur and changed the radius until it had the effect I wanted. Applied my blur, then added a layer mask to remove some of the blur from the bottle. When I got it how I thought it should look i saved it and here it is. TADA!

I have see lens blur in almost all of the TV shows i watch. In House when they changed from watching one person to another person talk but in the same shot they use lens blur. When ever I watch movies and you see two people in one shot and they aren't both talking at the same time, then they use lens blur.

The difference between lens blur and gaussian blur is that with lens blur you can select what gets blurred. Gaussian blur just blurs everything in the photo. Lens blur you can make a gradient that lets you choose what gets blurred and what doesn't get blurred.

I got all of my video uploaded to the computer. I made small adjustments to my two column script, because I didn't film any of the practices. I have started to pick out the clips I want for my final project. So far I have two sceens picked out that are going into my final project.

First I found a picture of the woods that I liked. Then I made background copy. I went into my channels and made a gradient layer. Then I messed with the gradient until I got it how i wanted it to look so that it would look good in my picture. Then I went to filter > blur > lens blur. I played with the radius until I got what I wanted.

I don't really know anywhere to use solorization to make a memorable affect. I'm in a lot of pain and my memory is kind of failing. You could probably use it if you wanted to change the look of photos of cars. That is my only guess.

I finished almost all of my interviews. I have to interview a few fans to be completely done with the interviews. After I finish all my interviews then I have to video tape a few of both boys and girls basketball practices. I might be able to tape the practices tomorrow night because they have a game today, so that would not work to tape tonight.

I'm shooting my video in several different locations. My interviews will be shot in the hallway as to have less background noise. I also have shots of some of the basketball games which were shot in our gym. I have one more week to finish my entire video. Some of the time constraints I faced are not having the people I need to interview here when I need to interview them. Also sharing a camera with someone limits my time to shoot what I need.

I turned the photo black and white. Then I did the whole solarization thing to the photo. Cropped it so that it looked like he was on the edge. I went back into my curves pallet and added color until I found what I liked. Then i merged all my layers together. I added motion to my photo. Went back in with black and removed the motion from just the guy. Desaturated the entire photo. Went in and pulled color back through to make it look like the color is fading from him.

You could you use the vintage effects in a movie to make it look old. Like what we did with the picture you can make the video look like that too. It will make it look like it was shot in the old days with a really old camera.

I finished writing up my two column script. I put all of it in a folder that says "Theresa's individual project." All I have to do is tape the questions and put it all together. Basically I have to do everything except for writing my scripts. I need to find at least two boy basketball players and two girl basketball player volunteers to tape.

For my individual project I'm doing basketball. I have part of it done. I already taped the basketball games. I still have to tape some practices and the interviews. For the interviews I just ask basketball plays and fans some questions related to the games and or practices.

It is important to look into the finer details of your photo so that it doesn't look like crap. If you don't look at all those little details you might end up leaving and extra hand behind. You could also have the shadow misplaced. There are a lot of things that could be wrong if you don't look at the finer details.

A pedestal is when you move the camera up and down on a tripod. You can also turn the tripod so you can make it look like the camera is moving up with the person. If you have someone whole is supposed to be walking up the stairs you can move the camera up to follow the person as they move.

I would depending on which way my skier was facing i would put a certain type of blur over it. If the skier was facing me i would put a radial blur but if he wasn't facing me i would put a motion blur on it. I would then make it so just the skier was in focus so that it looks like they are going down the hill. I would then add layer masks and darken the scene making it look dark. I would then add lights from up top shining down on the mountain to make it look like the lights are there just for that reason, night skiing.

I added some layer masks to make the bike and dude brighter. Copied the layer. Changed the blend mode to screen. I then grouped my two adjustment into a group folder. Added a mask to the entire group and brightened up the bike and the guy. I lowered the opacity and then played with the hues to of the layer to make it look how I wanted it too look. Added a layer mask and used black to take out the red and yellow hues I didn't want in the background.

It doesn't look like I did much I know. Truth be told I really didn't have to. I brightened the image. Thats all the video really told us to do. So that's what I did.

To start I duplicated the background. Then I added motion blur. I messed with it until i got it how I wanted it to look. Then i created a mask over my new layer. I took the black and removed some of the blur from it so you could see just the pick-up.

First I added some text to my sign. Changed the color and turned it a little. I added another layer and darkened some spots on it. I then added a curves layer or two and changed some things on that. I merged all the layers together. I added two spotlights where the sign lights are to brighten up the sign. Then to finish it off i darkened the edge and around the lights.
